Road. Spring 2024

Designed and built in January 2024 for the Philly Bike Expo, this frame was used to test several design ideas, fabrication, and finishing processes. The frame’s main tubes are filament-wound using 3D printed mandrels and molds, and are joined using a combination of pre-cast junctions and tube-to-tube construction. All tubes are tapered and/or shaped. The elliptical top tube tapers to a height of 15mm and transitions to seatstays molded to complement the contour of the iconic eeBrake. Other details include a molded chainstay yoke, tapered IS41/47 head tube, integrated seatpost, custom seat mast, and handmade carbon saddle. Finished in gloss clear with a gradient panel on the downtube, the carbon layup is visible throughout. The frame is designed to be stiff, light and responsive.

Build highlights include: Appleman 2XR cranks with a prototype Appleman 1x chainring, Cane Creek eeBrakes, and a pair of gloss Princeton CarbonWorks Alta3532 wheels.
